Finally Our Review for Bedford Hill Coffee Bar in Bed-Stuy/Clinton Hill

One may not think Bedford Hill Coffee Bar on the corner of Greene & Franklin is open for business, the corner seems a bit demure, but take time to notice because you won’t want to miss this place.   Little yellow tabletops, blue tiled floors, and sounds of spinning mixes invite you in to discover the essence.
Allison Stuart opened Bedford Hill in Bed-Stuy on November 2, 2010.  Stuart was bound to do this.  Prior to this she had managed coffee shops in Long Island City and Greenpoint, and throughout her high school and college years.  Talking to customers always came very natural to her.
Come taste some of Milwaukee’s Anodyne coffee and be wowed by the pastries from Ovenly, “the creative kitchen that adventurously explores culinary traditions by creating pastries, snacks, and confections that thoughtfully meld salty and sweet with a touch of spice”.  Ms. Stuart insisted I try the lemon, fig, and mascarpone hot tart (an adult version of the pop tart).  I was hesitant because I am not crazy about fig but I took her recommendation and left in return a plate of crumbs.  When you taste the mouth treasures from Ovenly you will think as Allison did, “oh my God, how did they figure this out?”

A big shout out to Allison’s boyfriend, Brady Dollarhide for telling Allison, “I’ll build that for you”, after hearing her dream and doing so.  The place made from re-claimed materials has a charming and quietly elegant appeal.

Bedford Hill is located near the neighborhoods of Bed-Stuy and Clinton Hill at 343 Franklin Avenue at the corner of Greene and is currently open daily from 7am-5pm.
